Refrain: Those lights of Nashville make a pretty sight; See how they sparkle shining up the night I had my hopes and dreams but now I see Those lights of Nashville weren't shining for me Verse 1: A suitcase and an old guitar and a poor boy's dreams But I found out Nashville is not all that it seems Now I've pawned everything I own, ain't got a dime Feels like I'm dying one dream at a time (Refrain) Verse 2 Those streets aren't paved with gold down on music row It's just another street when you've got no place to go Well, tonight I guess I'm sleeping in my car Back home they still believe I'm the next big country star Refrain: Those lights of Nashville make a pretty sight; See how they sparkle shining up the night I had my hopes and dreams but now I see Those lights of Nashville weren't shining for me Those lights of Nashville weren't shining for me

Verse 1: Penny loafers and bobby socks, And a heart that beats strong and true Saturday night at the record hop, Slow dancing with you. Verse 2 Each time I see you it's like the first time When our love was young and new A song on the jukebox was still just a dime For slow dancing with you Break I can't believe it's been so many years, You still look the same to me Put your hair up in that ponytail, We'll go cruisin', my steady girl and me Verse 3 Let's relive old memories, the ones we love the most, There's nothing I'd rather do We'll play those old records and we'll hold each other close Slow dancin' with you Slow dancin' with you

Verse 1: Well mama, take a look at junior, He's singing a brand new happy tune He's got himself a date, they're going walkin' Under that blue Alberta moon Verse 2 He's shined his shoes and got himself a haircut, His aftershave would make you want to swoon You know what it's for, that pretty girl next door, She's waiting 'neath that blue Alberta moon. Break Well blue moon of Alberta keep on shinin', Shinin' down from above Keep on shining bright, lighting up the night, Show him the way to the one that he loves Verse 3 So mama don't wait up for junior, He won't be coming home too soon He'll be walking with his baby, holdin' her hand, Under that blue Alberta moon He'll be walking with his baby, holdin' her hand, Under that blue Alberta moon

Refrain: What a friend I lost last night; Why'd I go and start that fight Now she's gone, clean out of sight; What a friend I lost last night Verse 1 What made me say the things I said Now our love is lying cold and dead I could have sworn that I was right, What a friend I lost last night. Verse 2 If not for pride I'd say I love her so, And I never meant to see her go Now alone in the dark can't see no light, What a friend I lost last night. Refrain What a friend I lost last night; Why'd I go and start that fight Now she's gone, clean out of sight, What a friend I lost last night What a friend I lost last night.

Verse 1: Halfway round the dance floor with a new girl in my arms I'm feeling kind of helpless, she's turning on the charms Music's soft and pretty, and things are feeling right I'm halfway tempted to fall in love tonight. Verse 2: We were perfect strangers when we walked through the door I asked her for just one dance, and then one more Now she's breathing kind of heavy - am I holding her too tight? I'm halfway tempted to fall in love tonight. Break: Well, half a love was all I'd had before, Til I found my other half on that big dance floor. Verse 3: I asked if I could take her home, she just said OK Walkin' up to her front door I'm wonderin' what to say Then she kissed me and I held her close 'Neath that front porch light I'm halfway tempted to fall in love tonight. I've always said I don't believe in love at first sight - I'm halfway tempted to fall in love tonight.

Verse 1: Well, there’s a real hot band playin’ down at the Silver Saloon, I’ve been workin’ all week - gonna make it up real soon, I need some serious boogie woogie, That’s my heart’s delight, And this country boy is gonna rock ’n’ roll tonight Verse 2: I been comin’ in tired it seems like a week or more, But it's all worthwhile with what tonight has in store, I'm gonna drink some beer but have no fear, I’ll be home by the mornin’ light, And this country boy is gonna rock ‘n’ roll tonight Bridge: Well, this country boy has had about all I can stand, A whole week of bein’ normal - things are gettin’ way out of hand Well, I probably won’t get crazy, ah but then again I just might, And this country boy is gonna rock ‘n’ roll tonight. Verse 3: Friday night only seems to come once a month or so, I’ve been savin’ it up, now I’m gonna let it all go, You know, people, I could stay home watchin’ TV, But that just wouldn’t be right, And this country boy is gonna rock ‘n’ roll tonight. Oh yeah, This country boy is gonna rock ‘n’ roll tonight. Well, this country boy gotta rock 'n' roll tonight.
