Verse 1: Step inside a gypsy caravan Tell me my future, 'cause I'm lonely man I knew I was born to lose When the gypsy sang the blues Verse 2 Gypsy told me she don't need a crystal ball No palms or tea leaves, she could see it all She told me I had to pay some dues And the gypsy sang the blues Bridge: Don’t bother with no horseshoes or rabbit's feet, she said The horse was a loser and the rabbit wound up dead Might as well go home now, and climb back into bed Pull the covers over your head Verse 3 So if your love life's not all that it should be Don't go see the gypsy, just take a tip from me If you do, be ready for bad news When the gypsy sings the blues When the gypsy sings the blues

Bridge: I got a pistol in my pocket A razor in my shoe I'll show that dirty dog What a jealous man can do. Going down to Black Alley I know I'll find my baby there I'll take her from that man I don't know how - you know I just don't care. Verse 3 Well, all you people in Black Alley Listen close to what I say All you people in Black Alley Please listen close to what I say If you can't help me find my baby For God's sake don't get in my way.

Verse 1: I found a girl And she has got such tender ways I'm lookin' forward to much better days 'Cause I found, I found a girl Verse 2: I found a girl One who'll stay with me right to the end Now I'm letting my poor heart mend 'Cause you know, I found a girl Bridge: Other loves I've known they'd leave me all alone Or they'd dog my old heart around You know, she's not that way, and I bless the day The happy day when I found, I found.. Verse 3: I found a girl I'm gonna keep her any way I can People, look at me, I'm a happy man 'Cause you know, I found a girl. Yes I did, I found a girl I found, found, I found, I found a girl.

Verse 1: I'm flattered that you waited outside the stage door just to talk to me You're a fine-looking woman, that's a fact that any man could see I guess you didn't know I'm married, my wife's waitin' home where I belong Say it's corny, but I love her, she's the grey-eyed lady in my song Verse 2 I really couldn't hold you, it wouldn't be quite fair to her at home She's been so understanding, and it kinda hurts to think of her alone Now honey, please don't move like that, don't go on tempting me that way It's late and I'm tired, I'm running out of tactful things to say Bridge: No, mister, I really wasn't flirting When I looked at your wife during my last song Gee lady, I don't know how that happened I really didn't mean to lead you on Verse 3 You can have my autograph, how about a glossy 8 x 10 Hope you liked the show tonight, perhaps I'll see you when we're back again We're in the next town next week, pack up my guitar, I'll be gone Next time I go on tour, I think I'm gonna have to take my wife along

about

"Gypsy Blues" is the blues side of the double album "50", helping Dusty celebrate 50 years as a performer! Dusty wrote the title song in honour of his Telecaster, "Gypsy". A smorgasbord of blues styles from funky (2B2 Funky) to country-blues (Stage Door Blues) to a jazz-blues waltz (Rising Sun Blues). (Album trivia: Dusty's funky fuzz-guitar blues 2B2 Funky is based on one of Dusty's country songs, "B22".)

Born in BC, Canada in 1947, Dusty started performing in bands in his early teens. He was always honing his craft, learning stagecraft from more experienced performers.

Dusty passed away in Nova Scotia in 2017. The man is gone, but his music lives on. Dusty's online presence is managed by Mrs. Dusty (Jeri-Lynn Woods). My goal is to share the magic and keep the Dusty Woods legacy alive.
