Verse 1: It's been a long, cold December, worst I can remember Everybody I know has got the flu Well, maybe I'm getting old, but I sure hate the cold Wintertime gives me the blues You nearly freeze yourself to death every time you take a breath There's nothing you can do Outside, my lawn jockey looks like he's playing hockey Wintertime gives me the blues. Break I'd like some real good loving and a fire to cuddle in front of I'm not that picky, heaven knows I know beggers can't be choosers - how can you tell winners from losers When all the chicks are bundled up like eskimos Verse 2 So please, Santa Claus, when at my house you pause, Leave me something I can use Don't want to sound like I'm a taker... How 'bout Christmas in Jamaica? 'Cause wintertime gives me the blues - Maybe the Bahamas? Wintertime gives me - well, all those bikini mamas - Wintertime gives me the blues.

Verse 1: Well, lately Baby's acting cold as ice I went to see old Santa for advice I said, My darlin's acting like we're through And he told me exactly what to do Chorus I'm gonna catch my baby under the mistletoe I'll tell her that I love her, 'cause I think she oughtta know I'll trap her in the corner, she's got no place to go I'm gonna catch my baby under the mistletoe. Verse 2 I can't give that woman a chance to get away I'm gonna hold her close and make her want to stay I've got to let her know my love is true 'Cause Santa says that's what I've gotta do. Chorus I'm gonna catch my baby under the mistletoe I'll tell her that I love her, 'cause I think she oughtta know I'll trap her in the corner, so she's got no place to go Gonna catch my baby under the mistletoe. Verse 3 Can't give that woman a chance to get away I'm gonna hold her close and make her want to stay Well I've got to let her know my love is true You know Santa says that's what I've gotta do Chorus I'm gonna catch my baby under the mistletoe I'll tell her that I love her, 'cause I think she oughtta know I'll trap her in the corner, so she's got no place to go Gonna catch my baby under the mistletoe. I'm gonna catch my baby under the mistletoe I'll tell her that I love her, 'cause I think she oughtta know I'll trap her in the corner, she's got no place to go Gonna catch my baby under the mistletoe.

Chorus Jingle bells, well jingle bells, jingle all the way Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh Verse 1: Dashing through the snow in a one-horse open sleigh O'er the fields we go, well, laughing all the way The bells on bobtail ring, Making spirits bright What fun it is to laugh and sing a sleighing song tonight. Chorus J-J-Jingle bells, j-j-jingle bells, jingle all the way Well, oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh Yeah, jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh. Verse 2 Well late last Friday night thought I'd take a ride Soon Miss Fanny Bright, well she was seated by my side That horse he was lean and lank, and misfortune seemed his lot We got into a drifted bank and you know we got upsot... Chorus Well jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way Well, oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh J-J- jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh I say that oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse One-horse open sleigh.

Verse 1: Milk and cookies all night long Santa should have known there was something wrong Found him a chimney a little too tight Hear him yelling all through the night Chorus Don't light that fire Don't light that fire Yeah, Santa's got the milk and cookie blues. Verse 2 No surprise that he got stuck Can't even blame it on pure bad luck Should have tried to control himself His friends all said, You're big for an elf... Chorus Don't light that fire Don't light that fire Yeah, Santa's got the milk and cookie blues. Go, Santa.. Verse 3 Well, Christmas morning he's still there Can't seem to find no help anywhere Hear them wondering all over town - Is he halfway up, or halfway down? Chorus Don't light that fire Don't light that fire Yeah, Santa's got the milk and cookie blues. Poor old Santa!

Verse 1: No tree, no decorations, no stockings hung with care I can't see the point when nobody's there No ringing bells, not even the phone It's my first Christmas alone. Verse 2 We used to sing those carols, it's grown quiet this year Without her beside me there's no Christmas cheer It's a real silent night that turns my heart to stone It's my first Christmas alone. Break Soon I know they'll be opening presents Under those Christmas lights For me there's no present, there's only the past No future in sight, at least not tonight... Verse 3 She didn't leave much, just a wreath on the door It'll still be there next summer, I don't care any more I wish Santa would bring me one reason why she's gone It's my first Christmas alone. Break Soon I know they'll be opening presents Under those Christmas lights For me there's no present, there's only the past No future in sight, at least not tonight... Verse 4 She didn't leave much, just a wreath on the door It'll still be there next summer, I don't care any more I wish Santa would bring me one reason why she's gone It's my first Christmas alone

Verse 1: This year I'm not hanging up my stocking I don't need no presents, you see I've got my heart's delight, oh what a pretty sight My baby's sitting under my tree. Verse 2 Last year about this time I was lonely That's all I thought I'd ever be But I found the perfect girl, oh, joy to the world My baby's sitting under my tree. Break Well I wrote a nice long letter to Santa And I told him what I wanted him to do I asked him to send me a real true love Looks like the old boy came through Verse 3 Now I'm not gonna need no mistletoe She saves her kisses for me I'm a lucky guy, so Santa, pass me by My baby's sitting under my tree. No more lonely nights, hey Santa, I'm all right My baby's sitting under my tree. My baby's sitting under my tree.
8.
Verse 1: Merry Christmas, pretty baby, have a happy new year Merry Christmas, pretty baby, and have a happy new year I'm so blue this Christmas, oh, 'cause I can't have you near. Verse 2 Well you said we'd be together to have a happy holiday You said we'd be together to have a happy holiday Well you up and left me, you didn't have a word to say Verse 3 Best wishes for the season, I hope all your Christmas dreams come true Best wishes for the season, I hope all your Christmas dreams come true Well, I can't have a merry Christmas, I'm too lonely missing you.
9.
Verse 1: Up at the north pole there's some real bad news Santa's closed up the shop and laid off the crew When they asked him about it, he just shook his head And as he walked away a spokes-elf said Chorus Santa ain't coming, that's what he said This Christmas morning might as well stay in bed We must have done something to make him mad Santa ain't coming, the whole world's been bad. Verse 2 All over the world, countries feeling their oats Butting their heads like some bad billy goats Now the world's going to reap just what it sowed 'Cause there just ain't no dealing with an elf that's PO'd Chorus Santa ain't coming, that's what I hear He don't want to deal with the fighting and fear All over the world people gonna be sad Santa ain't coming, the whole world's been bad. Chorus Santa ain't coming, just so you know He must have used up all his ho-ho-ho's Could be the worst Christmas we ever had Santa ain't coming - he said he aint coming Santa ain't coming, Santa aint coming, Santa ain't coming...

about

Dusty does Christmas! 12 songs about our favourite time of year ranging from country to rockabilly - and from traditional carols to blues. "A Dusty Christmas" has something for everyone: a blues shuffle version of "Jingle Bells", fun Christmas rockabilly, sad Christmas blues, Santa humour with a light calypso feel, an instrumental version of "What Child Is This". (Album trivia: Dusty wrote “Deep Winter Blues” while living in central Alberta, Canada - and no wonder!)
