Settle-Down Kind

from Straight Up by Dusty Woods

/

about

Some folks are just born to wander. Light and lively country song about a wandering man.

lyrics

Travellin' has always been my way
Of tryin' to ease my troubled mind
Movin' up and down this endless highway,
I guess I'm not the settle-down kind.

Somewhere on the blacktop or down a gravel road
There must be something I need to find.
It must be not knowin' that's such a heavy load,
I guess I'm not the settle-down kind.

Bridge
Well, I've got to see the other side of every mountain
Guess that's just the way I'll always be,
Give me my suitcase and an old guitar,
And don't stand between the door and me...

Honey when it gets to be my time to roam,
Please don't think I'm bein' unkind.
Way down inside I was born a rollin' stone,
I'm not the settle-down kind.
