about

Canadiana country-folk ballad about moving on. Combines a feeling of freedom and with a bit of nostalgic weariness. Pretty, slow and a little sad.

lyrics

Checkin' out of Calgary, leavin' it far behind.
Prairies are just a memory, easing out of my mind.
You know I haven't seen my home Lord since I don't know when
hmmmm, On my way again.

Pockets are kind of empty you could say the same about my heart.
Put my guitar upon my back, it's time to make a brand new start.
I've been in many a lonesome town, I stay about a week and then,
hmmm On my way again.

You know I miss my hometown, mountains reaching up to the sky
Got me a woman in Montreal, I'll think about her by and by
I'm going back to find her, lord I couldn't tell you when,
Hmmm, I'm on my way again.
