My Turn To Cry

from Honky-Tonk Days by Dusty Woods

/

about

We just said goodbye like before / but this time you're the first one out the door... A good ol' fashioned western swing-type shuffle with twangy guitar - the kind of song that Ray Price would have recorded (wish he had - we'd be a lot richer now).

lyrics

Verse 1:
Well, we just said goodbye like before
But this time you're the first one out the door
And you don't mind the teardrops in my eyes
'Cause you told me that it's my turn to cry

Verse 2:
You know I'm as true as I can be
I'm not the man that I used to be
So your leaving me was such a big surprise
You told me that it's my turn to cry.

Bridge:
Well, you know that it's been some time since I let you down
And even longer since I saw the lights downtown

Verse 3
Still you won't forget or even try
For you told me that it's my turn to cry.
