Ex-Darling Blues

from Honky-Tonk Days by Dusty Woods

/

about

She used to be nice, she used to be sweet, she used to give me lovin' that would knock me off my feet... No drums, no bass, no backup vocals. Just Dusty and his acoustic guitar with a fun little country-blues song he wrote a few years back. Hope you like it.

lyrics

Verse 1:
She used to be nice, used to be sweet
She used to give me loving that would knock me off my feet
But all that's changed, things ain't like they were before
And now my darling don't call me darling no more.

Verse 2
I tried to make amends, I tried to explain
She changed all the locks and threw me out in the rain
Well, it's a pitiful sight: a man pounding on his own door
And now my darling don't call me darling no more.

Bridge
Baby, baby, tell me what you want me to do
You're hanging up the phone, saying leave you alone -
I'd do anything just to get back to you.

Verse 3
Used to be my baby, treated me so kind
Now the way she's acting's got me out of my mind
I can't get over the woman that I still adore
And now my darling don't call me darling no more.
Yeah, now my darling don't call me darling no more.
