Does Goodbye Always Follow I Love You

from Too Old To Boogie, Too Young To Die by Dusty Woods

/

about

Faron Young style country shuffle, fast and danceable with plenty of twang.

lyrics

You're leaving me again just like a hundred times before
The way you always swore you'd never do,
And I know that I'll forgive you when you walk back through that door
I guess I must be used to losing you.

Refrain:
Does goodbye always follow I love you -
Is that the way that love's supposed to be?
Does goodbye always follow I love you -
Why oh why do you keep leaving me?

I've tried so hard to please you, you're still not satisfied;
I guess that's just the way you'll always be
Someday you're going to find out how it feels to lose your pride
When you get hurt the way you're hurting me.

Refrain:
Well, does goodbye always follow I love you -
Is that the way that love's supposed to be?
Does goodbye always follow I love you -
Why oh why do you keep leaving me?
Well, why oh why do you keep leaving me?
